1. Taking a Bath (Ghusl)
Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Ghusl (taking a bath) on Friday is compulsory for every Muslim reaching the age of puberty.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 858: Book 10, Hadith 249
The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said,
“Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumuah prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque), then prays as much as (Allah has) written for him and then remains silent while the Imam is delivering the Khutba, his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven.”

2. Wearing clean and/or new clothes
Narrated by Abu Dharr that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday.”
Sunan Ibn Majah 1097: Book 5, Hadith 295
It was narrated from ‘Aisha that the Prophet (ﷺ) delivered a sermon to the people on Friday, and he saw them wearing woolen clothes. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“There is nothing wrong with any one of you if he can afford it, buying two garments for Friday, other than his daily work clothes.”

3. Applying Perfume
Al-Bara bin Azib narrated that:
“Allah’s Messenger said: “It is a duty for the Muslims that they perform Ghusl on Friday and that each of them wears some of his family’s perfume. If he does not find any, then water is a perfume for him.”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 528: Book 4, Hadith 41
4. Go for Friday Prayer Early
Quran says,
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِذَا نُودِىَ لِلصَّلَوٰةِ مِن يَوْمِ ٱلْجُمُعَةِ فَٱسْعَوْا۟ إِلَىٰ ذِكْرِ ٱللَّهِ وَذَرُوا۟ ٱلْبَيْعَ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
“O believers! When the call to prayer is made on Friday, then proceed ˹diligently˺ to the remembrance of Allah and leave off ˹your˺ business. That is best for you if only you knew.”
Al Quran (Surah Al-Jumuah, 62:9)
It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“When Friday comes, the angels sit at the doors of the Masjid and record who comes to Jumu’ah prayers. Then, when the Imam comes out, the angels roll up their scrolls.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The one who comes early to Jumu’ah prayers is like one who sacrifices a camel, then like one who sacrifices a cow, then like one who sacrifices a sheep, then like one who sacrifices a duck, then like one who sacrifices a chicken, then like one who sacrifices an egg.”

5. Sending Blessings upon the Prophet
Quran says,
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ وَمَلَـٰٓئِكَتَهُۥ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى ٱلنَّبِىِّ ۚ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ صَلُّوا۟ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا
Indeed, Allah showers His blessings upon the Prophet, and His angels pray for him. O believers! Invoke Allah’s blessings upon him, and salute him with worthy greetings of peace.
Al Quran (Surah Al-Ahzab, 33:56)
Narrated Aws ibn Aws:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Among the most excellent of your days is Friday; on it, Adam was created, on it he died, on it, the last trumpet will be blown, and on it, the shout will be made, so invoke more blessings on me that day, for your blessings will be submitted to me. The people asked: Messenger of Allah, how can it be that our blessings will be submitted to you while your body is decayed? He replied: Allah, the Exalted, has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of Prophets.”

6. Listening to Salat-ul-Jummah Sermon (Arabic)
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
“He who performed ablution well then came to Friday prayer, listened (to the sermon), kept silence all (his sins) between that time and the next Friday would be forgiven with three days extra, and he who touched pebbles caused an interruption.”
Sahih Muslim 857b: Book 7, Hadith 38
7. Praying Sunnah Prayers at home
Salim narrated from his father:
“The Prophet would pray two Rakahs after the Friday prayer.”

8. Afternoon Nap after Friday Prayer
Narrated by Sahl:
“We used to offer the Jumuah prayer with the Prophet (ﷺ) and then take the afternoon nap.”

“We would not have lunch during the time of Allah’s Messenger, nor would we have a siesta, until after the Friday prayer.”

Abū Sa’id reported the Prophet as saying,
“If anyone recites Surah al-Kahf on Friday, the light will shine brightly for him till the next Friday.”

Abu Hurairah narrated that :
“The Messenger of Allah said: “Al-Yawmul-Maw’ud (the Promised Day) is the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Yawmul-Mashhud (the Attended Day) is the Day of Arafah, and Ash-Shahid (the witness) is Friday.” He said: “The sun does not rise nor set, upon a day that is more virtuous than it. In it, there is an hour in which no believing worshipper makes a supplication to Allah for good, except that Allah answers it for him, and he does not seek Allah’s aid for something, except that He aids him in it.”

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Friday is divided into twelve hours. Amongst them, there is an hour in which a Muslim does not ask Allah for anything but He gives it to him. So seek it in the last hour after the afternoon prayer.
